This critical role is embedded within the facility, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance and strategic growth. About the Role
As Finance Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure financial efficiency and strategic alignment across the organisation. This role will provide financial partnership, advice, analysis and reporting to the General Manager to enable commercial performance to be achieved and enable the growth strategy. This role is integral in maintaining financial integrity, delivering insightful analysis, and supporting informed decision-making that balances operational needs with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver, prepare and analyse the annual budget, and provide detailed monthly operating results to the General Manager.
* Ensuring that the fixed asset register is accurately maintained, ensuring debts are collected in a timely manner, undertaking cost and overseeing the stocktake and the auditing requirements as required.
* Ensuring timely and accurate recording of data in the financial systems and ensuring adequate internal controls exist over these systems.
* Provide the General Manager with timely financial analysis and advice, including financial results, forecasts and budgets, revenue optimisation and cost control and procurement benefits.
* Provide support to area managers on the achievement of budget.
* Provide leadership and management of financial governance for the facilities, ensuring that accounting standards are appropriately applied.
* Assist the General Manager in the marketing initiatives of the facilities to promote growth, help identify areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external forums.
* Identify opportunities to use resources more efficiently, improve performance and grow the business.
* Support the delivery of exceptional customer service by providing operational direction to ensure efficient management.
* Lead by example to build and maintain culture, structures, systems and processes which prioritise patient safety, exceptional care and a positive experience for our patients, people and partners.
* Maintain a talent pipeline that enables the growth of careers internally by coaching and developing the team.
About You
For success in this role, you will be an authentic leader with a growth mindset and a proactive approach to process optimisation. You will provide a fresh perspective to the finance function, and lead people with integrity. You will be CA / CPA qualified and will have broad accounting experience. Those at the Senior Financial Accountant / Junior Finance Manager level will be considered, as this role offers the opportunity for growth and progression within the broader group. You will be comfortable working on-site within a hospital environment, engaging closely with operational leaders and the General Manager to ensure financial sustainability.
* Experience within a service-driven environment / healthcare sector advantageous.
* Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance financial and operational priorities.
* Strong experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling.
* A proven ability of partnering with senior leaders, clinicians and operational teams advantageous.
* Experience in managing / leading people is advantageous, but an ambitious, professional and driven individual making their first move to formal management will be considered.
