Marketing & Communications Coordinator Victoria, BC | Full-time | Do you love telling stories that matter? Are you happiest behind a camera, crafting a great caption, or turning impact into content people actually want to engage with? Power To Be is looking for a creative, organized, values‑driven Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help share our impact, grow our community, and support inclusive outdoor experiences for people facing barriers. About Power To Be Power To Be is a BC‑based social impact organization creating access to nature for youth, families, and adults living with cognitive, physical, financial, and social barriers. We believe nature belongs to everyone — and we work every day to make that true. Working at Power To Be means being part of meaningful, lasting change — with muddy boots, big hearts, and powerful stories to tell. About the Role This is a hands‑on, content‑forward role at the heart of our organization. You’ll live where storytelling, social media, fundraising campaigns, events, and community engagement meet. You’ll work closely with Programs, Fundraising, Operations, and Leadership to create and share content that captures joy, impact, and connection — while keeping our digital channels humming and our brand feeling warm, human, and values‑led. This role is ideal for someone early to mid‑career who loves creating content, thrives in variety, and wants their work to directly support community impact. What You’ll Do Create & Share Great Content · Capture, create, and publish engaging photos, videos, graphics, and copy for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and email · Plan, schedule, and post content using Hootsuite · Write captions and short‑form copy that reflect Power To Be’s voice and values · Engage with our community by monitoring comments, messages, and tags Tell Impactful Stories · Gather stories, photos, and videos from programs, events, staff, and partners · Support impact storytelling across social media, campaigns, website updates, and reports · Help maintain organized photo and video libraries (SharePoint, Canva) · Support consent processes for photos, videos, and testimonials Support Fundraising & Campaigns · Contribute to major initiatives like Power To Play Summit & Race, End‑of‑Year Campaigns, and online fundraising · Create campaign assets including graphics, short videos, emails, and social content · Support donor, sponsor, and partner recognition through storytelling Coordinate Digital & Marketing Projects · Support website updates and content management on Squarespace · Assist with promotional items, print materials, signage, and event assets · Support event marketing and on‑site content capture · Help track basic analytics and organize reporting You Bring · 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation, or social media (or equivalent volunteer, project, or lived experience) · Strong writing skills and a good eye for visual storytelling · Comfort creating content using tools like Canva, CapCut, Hootsuite, and Mailchimp · Experience managing or supporting social media accounts · Strong organization skills and attention to detail · Confidence working cross‑functionally and asking questions · Alignment with values of inclusion, accessibility, and community care Work Environment & Perks · Based at Prospect Lake (4–5 days/week, with optional flex WFH day) · Full‑time (40 hours/week) with a flexible schedule · Salary range: $60,000 – $65,000 annually · 90% employer‑paid extended health & dental · $600 annual professional & personal development fund · 2 weeks vacation plus a paid 2‑week winter closure · Access to outdoor gear and pro‑deals · Opportunities to be outside, attend events, and connect deeply with the community Some evenings, weekends, and occasional outdoor or event work are part of the role — perfect for someone who values an active lifestyle and understands the connection between nature and wellbeing. Our Commitment Power To Be is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We strongly encourage applications from people with lived experience of disability or systemic barriers and from historically underrepresented communities. Accommodations are available at every stage of the hiring process. How to Apply Please visit the Power To Be Careers page to submit your application and see the full job description.
