Senior Payroll Advisor
* Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
* Fixed term: Until December 2025
* Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
* Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Senior Payroll Advisor is accountable to the Team Leader, Payroll Operations for the provision of operational payrolls services across the department, including payroll and associated HRIS management, workforce reporting, administration of staff movements, and general advice.
Key accountabilities include:
* Undertake a range of payroll related activities that support accurate processing of fortnightly payroll, within nominated timeframes, for the Department's employees and
* Autonomously undertake investigations into, troubleshoot and resolve complex employment or payroll matters and recommend suitable courses of action or solutions.
* Provide service excellence and foster effective teamwork and business relationship to provide a responsive and customer focused payroll service.
The Team
The position of Senior Payroll Advisor forms a part of the People & Culture branch within the Corporate Services group.
The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
The branch is a strategic, tactical and operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice. It has a clear focus on adding value to the department by supporting the Executive Board to drive DJSIR's organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in operations and service delivery.
* Strong analytical skills with expertise in payroll processing, problem-solving, and investigations.
* Knowledge of relevant agreements, legislation, and policies in the Victorian Public Sector.
