About the role
REGISTERED MIDWIFE
Up to Full time hours available
Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing urgent care, acute, surgical, maternity, aged aare, community and allied health services.
The Registered Midwife at Colac Area Health is responsbile for the delivery of a high standard of midwifery care and works within a strong supported team environment. We are currently seeking a dual registered midwife to work across midwifery with some shifts accross the acute ward. This role is an opportunity for an RN/RM who is keen to keep up with both midwifery and acute nursing skill sets. The role will work predominantly accross birth suite, post natal and includes midwifery day presentations as well as some shifts across our acute surgical and medical ward, in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
What's required?
* Dual Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Demonstrated capacity to work across the full role and scope of practice of a midwife
* Ability to demonstrate recent, contemporary and evidenced based midwifery practice.
* Demonstrated ability to manage maternity emergencies
* Ability to work across a rotating roster with varying demands and responsibilities
* ability to participate in the oncall roster
* Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team in a challenging but rewarding environment
* Ability to organise work in a systematic, accurate and timely manner and be flexible in a changing and dynamic environment
* Computer literacy particularly in Microsoft Office Software
* The ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly team player disposition who is confident and capable of representing the department and organisation to a high standard
