About the Role
In the role of Guest Service Officer you will be responsible for the guest's arrival and departure experience. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will be enjoying an inclusive working environment within a dynamic team that extends beyond the realms of Front Office.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Greet guests in a friendly, hospitable manner
- Handle guest check-ins/check-outs in accordance with hotel credit/cash handling policies in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Provide guests with information regarding the hotel, outlets, amenities, and area
- Respond to guest calls and requests. Employ problem resolution strategies and service recovery in the event of guest complaints.
- Answer phones in a courteous manner and assist guests with any inquiries
- Cancel room reservations according to procedures.
- Relocate customers in a professional and courteous manner according to procedures
- Utilize hotel software and PMS to record guest information in an accurate manner
- complications such as location changes or credit issues
- All other duties as assigned by management
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
**Qualifications**:
- Good Computer Skills particularly in the use of MS Office.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Diploma/certificate in Hospitality or Tourism Management is desirable
- Knowledge of Opera/Fidelio is desirable
- Preferable prerequisite knowledge of the Travel/Hotel industry but not essential
