We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Work Counsellor to provide crisis and short-term counselling and support to clients, face-to-face or on the phone.
This role involves collaborating with lawyers, First Nations Engagement Advisors, and multidisciplinary teams to minimise the impact of the legal process on clients.
About the Role
* Provide trauma-informed counselling services to clients in need.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
* Assist clients with referrals to essential services, promoting their overall well-being.
* Conduct outreach activities, including visits to remote and regional communities, to ensure accessible support.
* Represent the organisation in community education and advocacy initiatives, promoting awareness and understanding.
* Provide informal debriefing and support to colleagues to enhance awareness of wellbeing in a trauma-informed organisational framework.
Your Skills & Experience
* A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling is required.
* Eligibility for membership with PACFA, ACA or the AASW having completed a recognised Psychotherapy, Counselling, Psychology or Social Work Degree is necessary.
* At least 5 years relevant experience in providing trauma-informed counselling services is expected.
* Experience working respectfully and in a culturally safe way with First Nations communities is essential.
* Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills are required.
* A commitment to self-care and reflective practice is necessary for this role.
