We are currently seeking experienced
CNC Machinists
to join our advanced manufacturing site based onsite in
Port Melbourne
on a
full-time permanent
basis. The roles will primarily be based on day and afternoon shift.
Position Responsibilities
Operate CNC Machines
Work to fine tolerances
Understand cutting tools (tool life and condition, speeds and feeds)
Basic understanding of general dimensions and tolerances
Use measuring instruments – micrometers, verniers and slip gauges
Follow written instructions to set up fixtures and associated tooling
Use hand tools for deburring and thickness
Perform operator quality verification
Basic understanding of continuous improvement and lean principles
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)
Minimum 3 years CNC Machining experience on 4 or 5 axis machine is essential
Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a First-Class Machinist is essential
Flexibility to be available across both day and afternoon shift is essential
Ability to read and interpret Engineering & Technical Drawings
General knowledge of OH&S procedures and exposure to quality systems
Proven capability to work to agreed deadlines
Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Additional Information
This is an Enterprise Agreement position and classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
