Hays Manufacturing are working with this Tasmanian-based manufacturing and engineering business located in Kingston to source an experienced trades assistant to join their team for a short-term assignment. A specialised business offering high quality equipment for the marine industry, they have a strong focus on health and safety and a friendly culture.
Your new role
They're looking for a motivated trades assistant with a strong focus on grinding and polishing to achieve high‑quality finishes on products. In this role, you will support the wider engineering team by preparing components for final assembly. Your day will predominantly involve:
* Grinding, sanding and polishing metal components
* Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
* Maintaining work areas and equipment to a high standard
* Assisting tradespeople as required across general workshop tasks
* Following safety procedures and contributing to a positive team environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing or engineering environment
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
* Confidence using hand and power tools
* A team player with a proactive, can‑do attitude
* Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times.
