In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

* Enhancing health outcomes for individuals in detention through comprehensive and sustainable healthcare solutions.
* Ensuring timely access to the most appropriate healthcare services, including general medical practice, nursing, drug and alcohol support, and allied health services.
* Delivering care that respects and acknowledges the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of detainees.
The Registered Nurse Primary Health will:
* Work in collaboration with the primary health care team to ensure a multidisciplinary, coordinated and integrated approach to service delivery.
* Participate in the assessment, planning and implementation of care based on individual detainee needs incorporating a holistic approach to primary health care service delivery.
* Undertake a wide range of clinical duties including but not limited to immunisations, blood collection, wound dressings, health assessments, care planning, medication administration, health promotion and education etc, ensuring care is evidence-based and delivered using clinical guidelines and practice to underpin competency.
* Provide proficient, evidence-based chronic disease management.
* Ensure participation in relevant training and professional development for supporting high quality nursing.
About you:
* At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, including hands-on patient care in an operational setting (non-Telehealth-only)
* Knowledge and understanding in evidence-based chronic disease management
* General unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
