Our client is embarking on a strategic transformation to strengthen and embed Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices across all operations. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking WHS Management Consultant to lead this important organisational initiative.
About the Role
As the WHS Management Consultant, you will drive the implementation and integration of WHS Management System (WHSMS). Your work will directly support safer workplaces, stronger compliance outcomes, and enhanced organisational capability.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the rollout, consultation, and change-management associated with the WHSMS.
Providing high-level WHS advice and reporting to the Executive Manager People and Safety and the Leadership Team.
Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, Australian Standards, and relevant Codes of Practice.
Coaching, mentoring, and supporting an internal WHS team of three staff, including workload coordination.
Assisting with internal audits, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You will bring both strategic insight and hands-on WHS experience, with the capability to influence, build trust, and deliver results.
Tertiary qualifications in WHS (Diploma or Degree).
Proven experience in WHS management roles, including exposure to quarry operations.
WHS Auditor qualification and/or demonstrated experience in audit and compliance.
Current Class C Driver's Licence and White Card (General Construction Induction).
Ability to work onsite across Council locations within the Eurobodalla region.
Desired (Not Essential):
Eligibility for membership with the Safety Institute of Australia.
Knowledge of WHS practices and frameworks in Local Government.
Conditions and Compliance:
Appropriate professional insurances, including professional indemnity and public liability.
Compliance with Council's WHS, EEO, and Diversity policies.
Willingness to undertake a Working With Children Check if required.
Weekly progress updates to the Executive Manager People and Safety.
On-time delivery of agreed milestones, reporting, and documentation.
Availability for onsite work in Moruya and at other locations as needed.
