Job Overview
Council is seeking a motivated professional to join the Environmental Management team and implement best practice management for priority weeds and local natural resources.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect public and private lands for priority weeds and enforce relevant legislation when required.
* Identify weeds and provide technical expertise to land managers on weed control techniques.
* Enhance community knowledge on weed-related matters by developing educational material and building relationships with stakeholders.
* Control priority weeds on council-owned land.
Requirements
* Qualifications and/or experience in Horticulture, Conservation, or similar related disciplines (highly desirable).
* Demonstrated experience in identification and control of weeds, including powered equipment operation and maintenance.
* Good computer skills and ability to use electronic mapping systems.
* A valid Driver's Licence (LR Licence or higher desirable).
* General Construction Induction Training Card.
* AQF Level 3 Chemical Handling Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
* SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans or willingness to obtain.
