ResMed is embarking on a multi-year transformation across product development, PLM systems, digital workflows, and ways of working. This role will be a key leadership position driving that transformation across the Engineering organisation, enabling velocity, efficiency and certainty across the Product Development Lifecycle.
The Senior Manager – PLM & Transformation will lead strategic initiatives to modernise and optimise our ecosystem (including Jama, Project/Portfolio tools, requirements management workflows, and change control), while also championing cross-functional process transformation across Engineering, V&V, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and PLE.
This leader will be both a strategist and an operator—able to create the transformation roadmap, partner across functions, and deliver tangible improvements that change how ResMed designs, delivers, and maintains world-class CPAP mask products.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and define the long-term PLM strategy for the Masks business, ensuring alignment with global ResMed PLM and Digital Transformation programs.
* Lead the evolution of requirements management, change management, configuration control, and product data management practices.
* Drive adoption and optimization of PLM tools (e.g., PTC Windchill, Jira/Atlassian ecosystem, and internal portfolio tools).
* Partner with Engineering, Quality, and IT to ensure systems and processes are tightly integrated and scalable.
* Establish PLM KPIs, dashboards, and governance mechanisms.
Business Process Transformation
* Lead end-to-end transformation initiatives across the product lifecycle, from concept development through sustaining/PLE.
* Map, redesign, and streamline cross-functional processes that are currently fragmented, manual, or inconsistent.
* Drive simplification initiatives around requirements review workflows, traceability, verification planning, and regression analysis (e.g., reimagining Jama-based review processes).
* Champion digitization and automation opportunities across Engineering and adjacent functions.
Stakeholder & Change Leadership
* Work closely with senior leaders across R&D, PLE, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Quality to co-create transformation priorities.
* Build trust and alignment across globally distributed teams.
* Develop and execute change management plans to ensure adoption, behavioral change, and long-term sustainability.
* Communicate clearly at all levels—from executive steering groups to frontline engineering teams.
Project Delivery & Governance
* Ensure on-time delivery and measurable improvements from the programme.
* Establish project governance, charters, and stage gates; ensure cross-functional accountability.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to project teams (including indirect/matrix resources).
* Identify risks and drive proactive mitigation.
* Act as a thought partner to the Engineering leadership on organizational design, operating models, and capability development.
* Coach and mentor engineers, project managers, and cross-functional partners in modern PLM and systems engineering practices.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and experimentation.
Key Skills & Experience
Required
* 10+ years of experience in Product Development, Systems Engineering, PLM, or Digital Transformation roles.
* Deep knowledge of PLM platforms (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Agile), requirements management tools (e.g., Jama), and change control processes.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, product development lifecycles, and configuration management.
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
* Excellent communication, senior stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
* Experience with process mapping and redesign (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN).
Preferred
* Experience working with globally distributed teams across APAC and US.
* Experience integrating data flows between PLM, MES, ERP, and verification tools.
* Familiarity with CPAP/respiratory medical device development.
