The Director of Nursing role is based at North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital (NESMH) in Scottsdale, one of eight district hospitals across Northern Tasmania.
Responsibilities
* Provide senior clinical and operational leadership across emergency, sub‑acute inpatient, and community‑based services within Hospitals North.
* Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate services to ensure they are responsive to community needs and aligned with Department of Health objectives.
* Ensure professional and clinical governance of nursing services, meeting legislative, regulatory and accreditation standards while fostering a culture of quality improvement, safety and accountability.
* Manage and monitor human, financial, and physical resources for efficient use.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to service planning, policy development and organisational improvement initiatives.
* Promote workforce capability and sustainability through professional development, performance management and coordination of learning opportunities.
* Represent the Department on committees and working groups and provide high‑level professional advice as a senior member of the clinical management group.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwives Board of Australia.
* Desirable: Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
* Desirable: Current Driver’s Licence.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: $142,632 per annum (pro rata) with 12% superannuation contribution.
* Living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
