VIVE Cooking School is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / Cleaner to join our team in Rosebery. This role is a floating position that covers both kitchen assistant and cleaning duties. Depending on operational needs, you will be assigned to either area for each shift and advised at the start of your shift which section you'll be working in. Duties include supporting cooking classes, kitchen setup, cleaning, and customer service. Full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate commercial dishwasher and clean dishes, utensils, and equipment
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, workstations, and washroom
* Prepare equipment and workstations before classes
* Assist chefs and instructors during classes (behind the scenes)
* Help manage stock levels and kitchen supplies
* Greet customers and provide a warm, friendly welcome
* Serve beverages to class participants
* Ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and WHS compliance
Please note: there is no cooking in this role.
About You
* Previous café, restaurant, or front-of-house experience preferred
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and cleaning standards
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Availability
* Classes typically run Wednesday to Sunday
* Occasional Monday or Tuesday shifts
* Day, evening, and weekend shifts available
* Hours vary week to week
Requirements (Preferred)
* Unrestricted Australian work rights
* Valid RSA certification
* Fluent English (spoken and written)
