The Game Management Authority (GMA) is an independent statutory authority responsible for the regulation of game hunting in Victoria. It delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible hunting in Victoria.
The GMA is responsible for:

- issuing Game Licences and related testing;
- managing open and closed seasons for game species;
- enforcing game hunting laws and taking action against those who do not hunt legally; and
- educating and informing hunters on how to hunt legally and responsibly in Victoria.

**Game Officer**
- _ Salary:_ _$79,122 - $96,073 (Plus Superannuation)_
- _ Ongoing role_
- _ Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)_
- _ Usual work location: Bendigo (flexibility may be available)_

**The Role**
- Game Officers (GOs) are appointed as Authorised Officers under the Game Management Act 2014 and exercise law enforcement powers relating to the compliance of game hunting activities. GOs engage with a variety of stakeholders, including government and community groups under direction from Team Leaders and Senior Game Officers (SGOs) to deliver high quality community-focussed, statewide compliance services within Victoria. In accordance with state-wide strategic objectives and priorities, GOs work collaboratively in small regionally based teams and actively contribute and support programs and projects across the broader organisation.

**The Team**
- The position of Game Officer forms a part of the Compliance and Intelligence branch within the Game Management Authority.
- The Game Management Authority (GMA) delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible game hunting in Victoria. The Compliance and Intelligence Division is responsible for improving compliance with hunting laws and regulations.

**About You**
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and confidently communicate with people with diverse backgrounds at all levels within the organisation and community.
- Ability to establish, and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and groups, including working collaboratively and demonstrate empathetic engagement with all GMA staff and partner agencies.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and sound judgement. The ability to assess situations and use knowledge, skills and experience to make appropriate and informed decisions.
