The Role
The post of Head of the Department of Law is an opportunity to lead a remarkable academic team with excellent NSS results. The position is aligned with the University's Town House Strategy, aiming for significant growth in student recruitment over the next three academic years.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
Candidates should have strong management experience and an academic profile relevant to the discipline of Law, including an understanding of contemporary legal issues and the expectations of students and employers. They should have an appetite for innovation, be able to stimulate and challenge staff, contribute to the Faculty's growth and student experience agenda, and keep the Department's portfolio relevant and of high academic standard. Leadership and people‐management skills are essential, as is readiness to embrace the University's Townhouse strategy and inter‐disciplinary opportunities.
Salary and Term
Full‐time, permanent with a starting salary from £60,996 (Associate Professor) to £73,931 (Professor) per annum, plus a £6,000 per annum Head of Department supplement. The role carries a 4‐year term before potentially reverting to substantive Associate Professor/Professor status, or continuing for a second term under academic management framework rules.
