About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and immediately available Aged Care Facility Manager with proven expertise in clinical governance, compliance, and operational leadership to provide interim leadership for our residential aged care home.
This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the Regional/General Manager and is ideal for a seasoned Facility Manager or Senior Aged Care Leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments and has a strong track record in governance, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong, visible leadership to the entire facility team (clinical, care, hospitality, maintenance, and administration staff)
* Ensure full compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act 1997, and all relevant legislation
* Oversee and drive clinical governance frameworks including infection prevention & control, falls prevention, wound management, restrictive practices, and medication management
* Lead preparation for, and participate in, any unannounced accreditation visits, quality audits, or regulatory reviews during the contract period
* Maintain and strengthen governance systems (incident management, complaints & feedback, continuous improvement plans, risk management, internal audits)
* Monitor and improve key performance indicators (clinical indicators, staffing ratios, occupancy, resident & family satisfaction)
* Manage budgeting, rostering, payroll approval, and supplier relationships
* Act as the primary point of contact for residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders
* Ensure safe and high-quality person-centred care delivery at all times
* Provide detailed handover and documentation at the end of the contract
Essential Criteria
* Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (highly desirable)
* Experience as a Facility Manager / Director of Nursing in Australian residential aged care
* Proven expertise and recent experience in aged care governance, accreditation, and quality improvement processes
* Demonstrated success in achieving and maintaining 100% compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
* Strong understanding of AN-ACC funding model, Charter of Aged Care Rights, and Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Current National Police Check (less than 12 months old) and evidence of 2025 flu & COVID vaccinations
Remuneration
Attractive per hour rate: $77– $155 (depending on experience and qualifications) Superannuation paid on top Travel and accommodation assistance negotiable for interstate candidates
