The Opportunity
We're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts & Payroll Assistant to support our senior accounts staff and directors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts administration experience who enjoys variety and being part of a supportive team.
You'll work closely with our Accounts Manager and Accounts & Finance Officer, providing administrative and data entry support across payroll, accounts, and general office finance functions.
This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills in a busy finance environment without needing to hold formal accounting qualifications.
We're offering either part-time or full-time hours (Monday–Friday), with flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Administration
- Enter supplier invoices and assist with project/job allocations
- Upload and file supporting documents for accounts payable and receivable
- Assist with raising customer invoices and preparing statements
- Monitor inboxes for accounts queries and forward to the right team member
Payroll Support
- Enter and check timesheets in preparation for payroll processing
- Assist with updating staff details and leave records
- Prepare supporting documents for allowances, superannuation, and compliance
General Support
- Maintain accurate digital filing of finance records
- Assist with preparing information for statutory reporting
- Provide administrative support to the Accounts & Finance department and Directors as required
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in accounts administration or bookkeeping support
- Familiarity with Xero (or other accounting software) and Microsoft Excel preferred
- Working knowledge of Xero (or similar accounting software) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills preferred but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
- Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Clear and confident communication skills
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior staff
