The Opportunity: We are working closely with a major metropolitan tertiary hospital in South Australia to connect with a Consultant Anaesthetist seeking a full-time appointment within a high-demand perioperative service. This position offers broad consultant practice across elective and emergency surgery, obstetric anaesthesia, perioperative assessment, and participation in theatre and on-call services. It will appeal to specialists seeking the scale and complexity of a tertiary public hospital, with strong multidisciplinary interaction and the opportunity to contribute to service development, supervision, and contemporary perioperative care. The hospital is part of a large local health network serving more than 400,000 people and has been repositioned as one of the state’s three major adult tertiary hospitals.

This is a major adult tertiary hospital within a large metropolitan health network, providing comprehensive medical, surgical, diagnostic, emergency, and support services. The Emergency Department sees approximately 3,500 presentations each month, reflecting a substantial acute care interface for perioperative services.

Requirements
* Specialist Registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
* Fellowship of ANZCA (FANZCA) or nearing completion

o Eligible for recognised ANZCA pathway (including Competent Authority)
o ANZCA interview confirmed
o Assessed as substantially comparable
o Visa pathways available
