Essential Qualifications

  • A Diploma in Children's Services or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent recognized by ACECQA
  • A current and valid Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one
  • First Aid Certificate including training in asthma and anaphylaxis

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • A comprehensive understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard to ensure best practices
  • Ability to guide, mentor and support a team of educators, fostering a culture of professional reflection and continuous improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with educators, families and external agencies
  • Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating high‐quality educational programs
  • Demonstrated capacity to reflect on practices, seek feedback and engage in ongoing professional learning
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with families, children, colleagues and the broader community

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record as an effective leader or mentor in an early childhood setting
  • Ensuring all children have equitable access to learning opportunities, catering to diverse needs
  • Understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations
  • Participation in ongoing training and professional development to remain updated with sector changes
  • Capability to use relevant software and technology for documentation, communication and planning
