Workshop / Field Technician (Electrical Service Technician)
Full‐time position in the Service Department.
About the Role
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be part of a team of field and workshop service technicians providing prompt and effective service to customers in the Water, Power, Petrochemical and related industries. Your focus will include identifying faults, repairing, testing and modifying actuators in the workshop, carrying out planned and preventive maintenance, performing mechanical and electrical installations of actuators and associated components (pedestals, drive shafts, retrofit adaptations), and preparing accurate technical reports for each job.
Responsibilities
* Identify faults and diagnose issues in actuators
* Repair, test, and modify actuators within the workshop
* Conduct planned and preventive maintenance on actuators
* Perform mechanical and electrical installations of actuators and related components (pedestals, drive shafts, retrofit adaptations)
* Prepare accurate technical reports for each assignment
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in a practical engineering environment
* Proficient Microsoft Office user (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Requirement to attend training courses to attain qualifications; ability to complete customer inductions, medicals and inoculations where necessary
* Full valid driver's licence
* Technical knowledge of valves, actuators and digital control systems is advantageous
* Good grasp of basic electronics, electrical and fluid power theories
* Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
* Proficiency with common test and calibration tools
