Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Summary:
* Teach students with special education needs, promoting inclusive learning environments and supporting individualized support and learning programs.
The school is a comprehensive educational institution situated in the Hills Shire of north-western Sydney. The Inclusive Education Faculty supports students and staff in developing a productive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Approval to teach and/or experience in teaching students with Autism, intellectual disabilities, students with challenging behaviours and/or mental health concerns.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents and carers, SLSO staff, external support agencies and the wider community.
* Demonstrated ability to implement effective, flexible, and adaptive classroom management strategies that foster and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment, supporting all students to engage and succeed by employing reasonable adjustments and quality teaching strategies.
* Demonstrated successful classroom management with a flexible and open approach, creating a positive learning environment that promotes student wellbeing, authentic relationships, while utilising data to plan for effective individualised support and learning programs.
Conditions:
* An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
