Human Resources Coordinator Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in the Northern Territory.
About the Role:
* Provide generalist human resources support to our business units, including employee records, on-boarding, off-boarding, reporting, and ASIC and WWC applications.
* Coordinate individual and bulk package/employment terms changes, including updating spreadsheets, preparing instructions for payroll, drafting letters, and championing on-boarding and off-boarding workflows.
* Assist with IT and account creation, access, and troubleshooting, as well as reviewing and improving HR policies and procedures.
* Develop contracts and other employment-related documentation using templates and assist with reviewing and improving HR policies and procedures.
* Support managers and staff with queries relating to terms and conditions of employment, including Award, contract, and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
* Work with the Recruitment Business Partner to assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, drafting contracts, pre-employment checks, and onboarding.
* Supervise the organisation's DAMP (Drug and Alcohol Management Plan) program, undertake associated training, book pre-employment drug and alcohol tests for new employees and contractors, and existing employees.
* Assist with workers' compensation claims and liaise with 3rd-party providers.
* Take an active role in achieving identified projects, including HR/payroll systems implementation and development, contract start-ups, and annual HR calendar events.
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or a related field (or currently studying).
* Approximately three years' experience in a generalist Human Resources role.
* Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel and Word.
* A good understanding of the National Employment Standards (NES) and Fair Work Modern Awards.
* A sound knowledge of Human Resources systems, processes, and procedures.
* Sound judgment and the ability to work well with people at all levels, maintain confidentiality, and develop effective working relationships.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* An awareness and working knowledge of employment-related legislation.
* The willingness and ability to handle a busy workload to deadlines and work reasonable additional hours.
* Flexibility to work from other locations as required.
Desirable Requirements:
* Previous experience using HR information systems.
* Previous exposure to recruitment and selection processes and practices.
* Prior experience gained in the not-for-profit, aviation, or health sectors.
