The Role
Within CASG, Land Systems Division, the Prototype and Test Services (PTS) team, is responsible for the provision of testing capabilities to support the acquisition and sustainment of land materiel for the ADF. The Senior Technical Officer leads and manages small teams and ensures that equipment testing is conducted in a traceable and repeatable manner to provide objective quality evidence for clients to certify that materiel is safe, fit for purpose and environmentally compliant. A Senior Technical Officer within PTS may work in a range of laboratories:

About our Team
Land Systems Division's (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim to be agile, innovative and outcomes-focussed as we collaborate closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance.
The Land Engineering Agency (LEA) within LSD, supports various projects and Systems Program Offices (SPO) to ensure successful technical outcomes of Defence acquisition and in-service support of land materiel.
LEA provides services in engineering, testing, design and development, technical data and configuration management across the Defence Capability Life Cycle. Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal person will be an experienced Technical Officer who has a proven track record in achieving complex technical work and is capable of supporting the conduct of traceable and repeatable testing within one or more of the laboratories described within the Your Role section of this advertisement.
You will have experience in a testing environment leading a small team or test capability, being accountable for managing, planning, organising test workflow and equipment, engaging with stakeholders and performing administrative functions. Candidates are sought from all disciplines, in particular: Electrical/Electronics, Communications, Mechanical, Automotive and Calibration.
The successful candidate will:
* Meet the mandatory qualifications;
* Have experience delivering test capability, including test conduct, reporting, developing work instructions/standard operating procedures and conducting risk assessments;
* Have sound written and oral communication skills;
* Have excellent stakeholder management skills with a customer focus;
* Have experience working within a Quality Management System (or similar).
