The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Third Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath, based in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the First Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining the Fuel and Lube Oil Purification system, boiler maintenance, feed water control, compressed air machinery, and domestic services as directed.
* Safely operating the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders.
* Safely operating the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders.
* Performing day work, including rotating 24-hour shifts for gear turn operations, fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler, and boiler feed water control, as directed.
* Additional duties as required.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* A valid AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 certification.
* A minimum of 12 months relevant experience in a related role, including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts.
* A Certificate of Safety Training (STCW), desirable.
* Work Safely at Heights Certification, desirable.
* Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification, desirable.
* A Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC), required.
* Australian citizenship or unlimited working rights.
