We are looking for a part-time Finance Manager to join our team and take ownership of our financial operations. As our Finance Manager, you’ll play a critical role in managing payroll, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. You'll work closely with our Directors to provide financial insight, shape strategic decisions, and support our continued growth. We have big plans and we are looking for a team member who can help take us to the next level! This part time role is based in Burleigh Heads, and has an opportunity to be hybrid for the right candidate - and at this stage, 3 days per week.
JGR & STN was founded by Lucy Jackson & Nikki Westcott in 2018 and has evolved to become a staple brand for Celebrities & IT Girls worldwide. JGR is a leader in the women\'s fashion e-commerce space, and is also stocked in major retailers across Australia.
Key responsibilities of the role
- Payroll Management - Accurately process weekly payroll for both full-time and casual employees in compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Maintain employee payroll records, manage quarterly superannuation payments, and ensure timely tax and other statutory obligations are met.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual profit & loss statements to present to the management team and directors.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual finance meetings to review budgets and discuss business profitability.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cashflow forecasts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the directors.
- Monitor budget vs actual performance, identify variances and discuss results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis with management team and directors.
- Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, and other consultants as required.
- Lodge monthly and quarterly activity statements with the ATO.
- Accounts & Transactions - Processing of accounts payable (domestic and international suppliers) and overseeing accounts receivable.
- Manage Forex obligations.
- Manage bank reconciliations.
- Ensure integrity of data between reporting systems.
- Management of interentity transactions (where required).
Required experience and qualifications of the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years\' experience in a hands on finance role, ideally with an e-commerce business.
- Must have knowledge and experience processing and lodging quarterly superannuation payments, plus monthly & quarterly activity statements with the ATO.
- Proven experience using Xero, including payroll management and Forex.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Australian financial regulations.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
