Paid trainee role starting Term 4, transitioning to full teaching role in 2026
Are you a passionate, energetic educator ready to inspire young learners? The Athena School is looking for a graduate or soon-to-graduate teacher to join our K–2 team. You'll start as a trainee in Term 4 (mid-October), learning alongside experienced staff, before stepping into a full classroom role as maternity leave cover in 2026.

Your role will include:
* Educating K–2 students with engaging lessons and hands-on learning
* Producing required documentation (Lesson Plans, Scope & Sequence, IEPs, Report Cards)
* Maintaining a safe, inviting classroom and strong student connections
* Communicating with families through ClassDojo and regular updates
* Participating in staff and curriculum meetings, plus extra-curricular activities
* Supporting student wellbeing and skills for life

What we're looking for:
* Working With Children Check
* Completed (or near completion of) a Teaching degree
* Meets Conditional/Proficient Teaching requirements
* Enthusiasm, kindness, and strong classroom presence
* Flexibility, organisation, and strong communication skills
* Ability to use IT and plan extra-curricular activities
* A proven record (or practicum experience) working with children
* Willing to learn our study philosophy
