CPC Engineering has over 50 years of experience in the mining sector and is 100% Western Australian owned. We are currently seeking a motivated and driven Human Resources Advisor to join our organisation in a permanent, full-time capacity.
Role Summary
The Human Resources Advisor operates within a centralised HR and Talent & Resourcing model, providing consistent, high‑quality people support across the full employee lifecycle. The role delivers generalist HR advisory services, while also supporting recruitment and onboarding activities in partnership with the central Talent & Resourcing team.
The HR Advisor partners with leaders to support workforce needs, employee relations and day‑to‑day people matters, ensuring all activities align with group‑wide policies, industrial instruments and governance frameworks. The role acts as a key enabler of a consistent and positive employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, performance and employee relations.
Role Scope
* Provides HR advisory support across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations and exits
* Supports recruitment activity in partnership with the central Talent & Resourcing function
* Plays a key role in onboarding and early employee lifecycle management
* Operates as a shared service across all divisions and regions
* Applies consistent HR governance, policies and processes across the group
* Escalates complex, high‑risk or strategic matters to the HR Manager as required
* Works closely with Talent & Resourcing, Payroll and HSEQ as an integrated function
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day HR advice to leaders and employees across the group
* Coach leaders on performance, conduct and engagement matters
* Support consistent application of group HR policies and frameworks
* Escalate complex or high‑risk matters as required
* Support recruitment activities in partnership with the central Talent & Resourcing team
* Work with hiring managers on role requirements and position descriptions
* Coordinate recruitment processes, offers, contracts and pre‑employment checks
* Ensure recruitment activity aligns with central governance and approvals
* Coordinate onboarding and induction activities
* Ensure employment documentation, system access and payroll setup are completed
* Support probation reviews and early performance conversations
* Manage employee relations matters including performance, grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions and exits
* Ensure matters comply with legislation, industrial instruments and company policy
* Maintain accurate documentation to support defensible outcomes
* Apply and interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements, contracts and legislation
* Support employment‑related audits and compliance reporting
* Identify and escalate industrial or legislative risks
* Support implementation and adherence to group HR policies and procedures
* Identify gaps or inconsistencies in people practices
* Contribute to continuous improvement of HR frameworks and tools
* Maintain accurate employee and recruitment data across HR systems
* Support workforce reporting and HR metrics
* Ensure confidentiality, data integrity and audit readiness
* Support culture, engagement and wellbeing initiatives
* Assist leaders through organisational change and workforce transitions
* Promote consistent leadership behaviours and company values
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* 3–5+ years' experience in a generalist HR or HR Advisory role
* Experience operating in a centralised or shared‑services HR model
* Strong employee relations and case management capability
* Solid understanding of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
* High‑quality written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in engineering, construction, mining or project‑based environments
* Exposure to unionised or multi‑site workforces
* HRIS and recruitment system experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
