About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps. CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond, with beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub-acute services including rehabilitation. CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond. We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments. CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs. Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing. CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University\'s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students. About Department

The Environmental Services Department is responsible for providing many and varied services to all areas of Central Gippsland Health Service.

Services include:

* Portering services, linen collection and delivery, patient/specimen/histories transfers
* All aspects of housekeeping /cleaning
* Ensuring that the CGHS campuses meet the Victorian Government\'s hospital cleaning standards.
* Effective waste management of both clinical and general waste and carrying out waste audits.
* Supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.


About the Role

The purpose of the role is to:

* Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
* Work collaboratively with all members of the Environmental Services Team


Duties

* Provision of safe and timely portage services within the health service such as for linen, patients, specimens, files, trollies/beds and any other patient related articles as required.
* Provide support and assist clinical and non-clinical leaders in the management of disruptive patients/visitors in accordance with CGH guidelines such as the de-escalation process.
* Complete cleaning of various areas and equipment in the health service as nominated by the Environmental Services Manager in accordance with the infection control standards and cleaning standards and schedules.
* Undertake the carriage of deceased persons to mortuary and if required prepare deceased persons for viewing.
* Provide a safe and secure environment at the health service through actively monitoring activity and supporting all staff as required


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

* Relevant vocational qualifications and/or preparedness to undertake appropriate training
* Current Security License minimum certificate II in security operations
