About the role A long-established, family-owned manufacturing business (70 years) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for their Gold Coast operation in Molendinar. You will perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and improvement work on a wide range of in-house production machinery (CNC, coiling machines, furnaces, conveyors, shot peening, etc.). You’ll join a skilled, long-tenured team of fitters and receive structured mentorship (~6 months) from experienced operators to quickly master the equipment. Ideal for a trade-qualified fitter with strong MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting skills (90% mechanical focus), who values stability and a supportive, family-oriented workplace with many team members of 10–30 years’ service. Duties Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across all machinery (CNC machines, coiling machines, furnaces, conveyors etc) Learn and upskill on the machines, their parts, and processes (mentored by an experienced operator for ~6 months) Flexibility to wear different hats and tackle a broad range of tasks. Skills and experience Essential: Welding/fabrication skills, boilermaking, maintenance fitting. Proficiency in MIG & TIG welding. Desirable: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic experience (support available in-house). Additional: Lathe experience or comfort working with lathes is a plus. Experience Level: Ideally 15–20 years, able to troubleshoot mechanical faults (90% mechanical, 10% electrical). Certifications & Tickets: Core tickets: Welding/fab, boilermaking. Additional tickets (e.g., confined space) are advantageous, but support/training can be provided.
