About the role
Absolute Diesel Services' is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Maryborough, QLD. We have service dealerships with Scania and Isuzu trucks and Palfinger Cranes. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of heavy diesel equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in the automotive trades industry and contribute to the success of a growing organisation.
What you'll be doing
1. Diagnose and repair a variety of heavy diesel equipment, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulics
2. Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing to prevent equipment breakdowns
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues, working closely with the wider team
4. Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including parts used and labour hours
5. Ensure a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
6. Provide exceptional customer service and technical guidance to clients
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related field
2. Hands-on experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues
4. Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
5. Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
7. A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
