Special Education Teacher Position
The special education teacher provides direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities, working collaboratively with general education teachers. They monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities, assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and adhere to physical demands as required by job responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities

Working Conditions: The special education teacher is required to work in a school environment, adhering to the Montgomery County Education Association agreement and attending school meetings and activities outside regular instructional hours. Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in special education
* Knowledge of learning theory, differentiated instruction, developmental reading, child development, applied behavior analysis, and assessment
* Student teaching experience in the specific area of exceptionality or two years of teaching experience at the level appropriate to assignment
* Certification in Standard Professional Certification I (SPC I) in special education
