About The Role
We are representing a recognised, International renewable energy company in their search for an experienced Grid Engineering Manager. This is a senior technical leadership role, responsible for managing internal power systems engineers while acting as the primary interface with AEMO and the NSP's. Two vital components of this role are team management and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop an in-house team of power systems engineers
Act as the primary point of contact with AEMO and the NSPs
Own the grid connection strategy across multiple projects
Oversee GPS negotiations, compliance assessments, and R0-R2 processes
Manage consultants and EPC interfaces as required
Ensure alignment with the NER, S5.2, and evolving AEMO requirements
Support internal stakeholders with clear, pragmatic grid advice
Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualification
Circa 10+ years experience in grid/power systems
Ability to manage a team of power systems engineers
Proven experience dealing directly with AEMO and NSPs
Good understanding of GPS, R1/R2, model validation, and compliance processes
Confident communicator able to balance technical rigour with commercial outcomes
