Role Overview
Join Rydges as part of EVT to help create wow-factor experiences. You will be part of the Maintenance/Engineering team, delivering guest-focused service and maintaining safe, well-functioning hotel facilities.
Responsibilities
* Anticipate and attend to the guest's needs and desires immediately.
* Offer a warm and friendly salutation to hotel guests as they enter and depart from the Hotel.
* Perform all work functions as directed by the Maintenance Manager or their designated replacement.
* Work with other members of the maintenance team and be responsible for work carried out.
* Take charge and show initiative in all aspects of the Engineering Department and Hotel operations.
* Perform duties as detailed on the established hotel maintenance checklist.
* Undertake tasks in accordance with the Work Request System, Preventative Maintenance Program, and / or verbal requests from the Maintenance Supervisors / Managers.
* Respond to and carry out all inter-departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs and/or general assistance; communicate with the appropriate trades person or the Assistant Maintenance Manager if needed and follow up until action is taken.
* Work on a rotating basis as the Shift Operator.
* Log all defects and work or repairs carried out.
* Render assistance to other departments or their representatives.
* Communicate with the Maintenance Manager regarding all urgent and/or dangerous facility matters.
* Respond promptly to all calls for assistance and communicate actions taken.
* Ensure that all public areas are consistently safe and that all equipment is operating.
* Maintain personal grooming and appearance in accordance with the hotel's standards.
* Maintain harmonious relationships with other members of the service team.
* Comply with all of the hotel's operational policies and procedures.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
* Complete all assigned opening and closing duties and attend scheduled meetings.
* Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor/manager.
* Participate in rostered theoretical and on-the-job training sessions.
* Maintain knowledge and practice of the hotel's workplace health and safety guidelines (WH&S).
* Attend all scheduled meetings.
