Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is looking for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our growing team on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse to step into a leadership role where you will support high-quality, person-centred care and help shape a recovery-focused inpatient environment.
About the Role
As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with daily operations, clinical leadership and the coordination of safe, evidence-based care. You will:
* Provide clinical leadership that promotes recovery-focused, non-punitive and non-coercive practices, including reducing the use of seclusion and restraint.
* Support and guide staff, fostering a culture of professional development, collaboration and accountability.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and LRH policies.
* Contribute to quality improvement, accreditation requirements, data analysis, audits and reporting.
* Promote safe practice, effective risk management and high-quality patient outcomes.
* Represent LRH values and support positive change across the unit.
* Assist with resource management including staffing, budgeting and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and support evidence-based assessments, care planning, interventions and evaluations.
* Identify clinical risks and lead appropriate reporting, investigation and actions.
* Uphold and model ethical practice, critical thinking and professional nursing standards.
* Support staff wellbeing and foster a safe, inclusive and positive workplace culture.
* Participate in clinical supervision (both receiving and providing).
* Drive continuous improvement and support organisational change.
About You
You are an experienced, motivated and compassionate nurse with strong clinical and leadership capability. You demonstrate:

Key Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications & Registrations
* Registered Nurse:
o Division 3, or Division 1 with a post-graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Working with Children Check.
* Current Police Check.
Desirable
* Victorian Driver's Licence.
* Post-graduate qualifications in management or other relevant areas.
* Membership with a professional nursing organisation.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum 3 years clinical mental health experience with strong clinical competence.
* Demonstrated leadership capability and experience leading teams.
* Experience in recovery-oriented practice and commitment to reducing seclusion and restraint.
* Working knowledge of:
o Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
o Aged Care Act
o National Mental Health Standards
o Occupational Health & Safety Act
o Guardianship and Administration Board processes
* Experience with audits, data analysis, reporting and quality improvement.
* Training in clinical supervision.
* Competency in Basic Life Support.
* Evidence of recent professional development.

* Computer literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
