Job Responsibilities:
* Edit and assist with the post-production of news videos, ensuring all content meets high editorial standards.
* The role requires rapid editing turnaround in a fast-paced news/information environment.
* Collaborate with our editorial team to transform complex news stories into clear, engaging content that resonates with our core audience of busy, information-seeking individuals.
* Manage the setup and execution of video and audio recordings, staying up to date with industry trends and new technologies.
* Edit educational audio content for our Newshounds program, targeted at 7-12-year-olds.
* Stay informed about current events and news to ensure content adheres to high standards for factual accuracy and bias-free reporting.
* Work with our editorial team to maintain brand consistency across all platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in digital news media editing.
* Strong proficiency in audio and video editing software - experience with Reaper and Adobe Suite preferred.
* Experience in optimizing content across multiple platforms and formats.
* Ability to maintain consistent sound and visual quality across all content.
* Skills in creating engaging visual elements for social media platforms.
* Strong news judgment and attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain neutrality and avoid bias in content presentation.
