About Us:
QSD Electrical is a locally owned and operated electrical and air conditioning business based on the Fraser Coast.
We specialise in mining camp installations, electrical maintenance, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration across Queensland.
As our company continues to grow rapidly, we are seeking a qualified Electrician or Dual Trade Electrician/Refrigeration Mechanic to step into a 2IC / Leading Hand role as well as one or two qualified Electricians or refrigeration mechanics.
The 2IC position will support the head electrician in day-to-day operations, oversee team performance on-site, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standard of safety and workmanship.

About the Role:
The 2IC will act as the right hand to management, taking on leadership duties and assisting with scheduling, mentoring apprentices, supervising site works, and liaising with clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking to progress into a leadership role and play a key part in the continued growth of QSD Electrical. This will be a hands on role, so you must be prepared to be on the tools and lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with job planning, site supervision, and coordination of field staff
* Support the Director with daily operations and workflow management
* Lead and mentor apprentices and junior trades
* Conduct quality assurance and ensure compliance with company standards and WHS requirements
* Communicate effectively with clients and team members to deliver outstanding service
* Provide hands-on technical expertise in electrical, air conditioning, and refrigeration work
* Contribute to ongoing improvement of systems and processes within the business

Skills & Experience Required:
* Fully qualified Electrician (Dual Trade Electrician/Refrigeration highly regarded)
* Demonstrated experience in commercial electrical or refrigeration work
* Proven leadership or supervisory experience highly regarded
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
* Computer literate with excellent attention to detail
* A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Uncompromising commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
* Current driver's licence and relevant trade licences
* Must reside in and hold full working rights in Australia
