Job Description
This role can be down from Canberra / Brisbane / Melbourne
As an IT Systems Analyst at NCS Australia, you will be the architectural bridge that translates high-level business concepts into detailed, actionable technical specifications. This is a critical design-focused role where you will analyse complex systems to ensure they meet both functional requirements and rigorous technical constraints. You won't just be documenting needs; you will be evaluating various technological options and conducting deep-impact analyses to ensure that every solution aligns perfectly with approved enterprise architectures, standards, and performance benchmarks.
In this position, you will operate across the full spectrum of project lifecycles, from traditional predictive models to fast-paced Agile delivery. You will work in lockstep with Product Owners, Architects, and engineering teams to refine backlogs and plan high-impact releases. Your expertise will be vital in defining both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring that quality, security, and scalability are never sacrificed for speed. By creating detailed designs, models, and specifications, you provide the roadmap that allows our developers to build and verify world-class software.
Beyond the initial design phase, you will play a hands-on role in the operational success of our projects. This includes maintaining comprehensive system documentation and providing expert support during large-scale deployments. You will be a key problem-solver, resolving minor issues as they arise and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within our delivery frameworks. At NCS, your goal is to strike the perfect balance between sophisticated functionality and technical feasibility, ensuring that the systems we build for our clients are as robust as they are innovative.
Qualifications
* Analytical Architect: You have a proven track record of designing and analyzing enterprise-scale systems, with the ability to create detailed technical models and specifications.
* Requirements Master: You excel at eliciting and defining both functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring that performance, security, and accessibility are central to every design.
* Hybrid Lifecycle Expert: You are comfortable working across both Predictive (Waterfall) and Agile lifecycles, with experience in backlog refinement and sprint planning.
* Strategic Thinker: You don't just take orders; you evaluate options and conduct thorough impact analyses to recommend the best technical path forward.
* Collaborative Partner: You have experience working closely with Product Owners and Architects to align technical solutions with broader business strategies.
* Detail Oriented: You take pride in maintaining high-quality system documentation and ensuring that the \"source of truth\" for technical designs is always accurate.
* Deployment Savvy: You understand the complexities of large-scale IT deployments and are comfortable supporting delivery teams through the \"go-live\" process.
* Problem Solver: You possess strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset toward resolving technical hurdles and improving system performance.
