Senior Product Development Technologist (FMCG)
Six Degrees have partnered with a large organisation who specialise in all things animal care to recruit a Senior New Product Development Technologist for their Ryde, NSW location. This is an office-based role with occasional travel to visit suppliers. If you are an animal lover, this might be the perfect role for you
This newly created role will bridge the gap between the NPD team and other stakeholders, taking the lead on complex projects and acting as a key technical and project management resource across multiple categories. The role will drive project delivery from concept to launch, troubleshoot technical issues, and support continuous improvement of processes and systems to ensure successful execution of the product development pipeline. Full Australian working rights are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage complex NPD projects from concept through to commercialisation, ensuring timelines, product quality, and compliance against the food standards are met.
* Provide technical leadership in formulation development, ingredient functionality, and process optimisation across multiple product categories.
* Build and maintain relationships with co-manufacturers and suppliers.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (QA, Marketing, Category, Operations) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers) to ensure alignment on project goals and delivery milestones.
* Champion best practice project management using tools like Asana to streamline cross-functional updates, track progress, and manage timelines.
The successful candidate will have
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 4 years of food product development experience in FMCG with exposure to retail private label environments.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for food products.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Proven project management experience with proficiency in project management tools like Asana, Excel, and MS Project.
* A love for all animals, big or small.
