The Opportunity
Our client, a specialist investment manager, is seeking a Legal Counsel for a 12 month FTC. You will work closely with the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in a broad and integral role. This organisation is majority owned by its principals and employees and has a collaborative working environment and a varied client base across a variety of funds.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the business and assist a range of stakeholders with their legal requirements and enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
* Your role will be both transactional and advisory, and will cover funds formation, operation and maintenance as well as financial services regulatory work (Chapter 7).
* You will support product development and provide legal advice across the product lifecycle.
* Assist in private equity transactions; shareholders agreements, venture capital, subscription agreements and convertible note deeds.
* Advise on company secretarial matters.
Ideal Candidate
* Australian legal qualifications and a current Australian practising certificate.
* Solid investment management and/ or financial services law experience, gained from time spent inhouse or in private practice.
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
