About the Role
This is a full-time, hands-on position ideal for a pastry professional who thrives in a structured production setting and is committed to maintaining exceptional quality and presentation. You will work closely with experienced pastry chefs and take part in the preparation, baking, and finishing of our products.
This role is well suited to someone who is technically skilled, highly organised, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality pastries on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and produce a range of pastries and desserts from scratch, following established recipes and quality standards.
* Assist with dough and batter preparation, laminating, baking and basic finishing.
* Decorate and finish baked goods with attention to detail.
* Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
* Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times.
* Adhere to food safety, hygiene and workplace health & safety standards (HACCP)
* Assist with daily prep, stock rotation and basic inventory control.
* Support new product development when required.
* Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production and service targets in a fast-paced environment.
Our Requirements
* At least one year experience as a Pastry Chef/cook in a bakery or patisserie environment.
* A Certificate III & IV in Patisserie, with formal hospitality training and hands-on commercial kitchen experience.
* A strong understanding of pastry techniques and commercial kitchen workflows.
* Strong knowledge and passion for the craft of viennoiserie.
* Confident in preparing a variety of sweet and savoury pastries.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outcomes.
* The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve
* Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
* Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations for food preparation
* Physical strength and stamina.
* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
* Be flexible to work at any of our two store locations (Northbridge and Victoria Park)
