JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure and support services. This position ensures that end-users receive timely and effective technical support while maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing network environment. The manager leads a team of IT professionals, collaborates with clinical and administrative departments, and ensures compliance with regulations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Specific:
* Develop and carry-out departmental goals and objectives in conjunction with the hospital’s mission, strategic plans, and other identified needs, as well as in the planning, supervising, coordinating and directing the activities of the department. (EF)
* Maintain support staff by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees within areas of ownership. (EF)
* Coach, counsel, evaluate, implement corrective actions as necessary, and performance manage employees. (EF)
* Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and ensure they stay up to date with evolving technology.
* Coordinate with interdepartmental teams (IT teams) to address systemic issues and implement preventative solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure IT systems meet organizational needs and business objectives. (EF)
* Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met. (EF)
* Prepare and manage the budget for areas of ownership, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation. (EF)
* Manage inventory within areas of ownership and equipment lifecycle.
* Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices within areas of ownership. (EF)
* Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
* Oversee all aspects of the telecommunications infrastructure, including planning, design, installation, maintenance, and support of voice and data networks, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance. (EF)
* Oversee all aspects of the help desk support service and ticketing system, including the processing of incoming support requests, ensuring courteous, timely, and effective resolution. (EF)
* Oversee all aspects of the infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security, ensuring that critical applications are supported. (EF)
* Lead the strategic design and deployment of enterprise-wide network systems, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions. (EF)
* Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
* Maintain current knowledge of and apply with applicable regulatory agency guidelines, and federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to information technology, privacy, security, confidentiality, and protection of information resources.
* Maintain professional growth and development through education of current security practices and trends, attend relevant seminars and workshops, participate in professional affiliations, and review applicable, current literature.
* Participates in hospital committees, hospital-sponsored programs and activities, and civic community activities, as requested.

* Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
* Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
* Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 5 years in IT support roles (preferably within a healthcare environment), with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Proficiency in ticketing software; familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems; experience with network design and management, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
Preferred: Knowledge of NIST, AI
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required: Communication and relationship skills necessary to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and healthcare providers. Excellent knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to infrastructure and IT operations in a healthcare organization. Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills and a solution-driven mindset. Ability to manage and motivate a team.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Required: None
Preferred: IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification or other globally recognized information systems certifications.
