Yirara College is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of People and Culture to join our Executive Team. This key leadership role will provide advice to the Principal, Deputy Principal, Operations Manager, Director of CLO and Heads of Departments on Human Resource related matters.

The Director of People and Culture is delegated responsibility for the developing and ongoing implementation of Human Resources Management within the College as well as the professional development and wellbeing of teaching and non-teaching staff. A member of the Executive Team of the College, the role will contribute both operationally and strategically to continuous improvement, day-to-day success and delivery of the College Strategic Plan.

About the Role

We're looking for a dynamic Director of People and Culture to serve as a strategic partner to our Executive team. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Director of People and Culture provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all staffing matters, including:

· Creating a strong culture in staff that exemplifies the College's purpose and values

· Leading the wellbeing activities and care for all staff of Yirara College

· Ensuring relevant and practical professional development opportunities are made available for staff in their specific contexts

Qualifications and Experience

· Qualifications with a human resource focus, educational leadership or equivalent experience (preferred)

· Experienced in HR leadership, staffing management or organisational capability

· Confident in navigating employment law, industrial relationships and policy

· Skilled in building strong staff relationships and resolving complex workforce issues

· Committed to cultural safety and respectful engagement with Aboriginal people

· Able to design and implement effective professional learning and performance systems

· Strong understanding of, and experience in the application of Restorative Practices

· Significant understanding of current and emerging human resources and educational directions and their implications for schools.

· Demonstrated leadership excellence and strategic planning capabilities

· Extensive expertise in organisational management and operational efficiency

· Proficient in utilising project management tools and conducting data analysis

· Proven experience in senior advisory or operational positions

· Skilled in managing complex priorities and operating effectively within ambiguous environments

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

· Proactive, results-driven mindset
