The Manager is to lead and manage the Child Safety Service Centre in the delivery of high quality, collaborative and integrated child protection services to clients and communities serviced by the Child Safety Service Centre.

This is achieved through the implementation of quality casework and case management systems/practices/standards and practice framework, the establishment of enduring productive partnerships with carers, the community, public and non-government sectors, service providers and the ongoing professional development and management of staff. You are also responsible for managing the financial, physical, and human resources within the Child Safety Service Centre.

NOTE - There are 2x permanent full time Manager positions available, both located in Toowoomba.**

About Our Service Centres

The Western Downs Assessment Service Centre (WDA CSSC) and the Toowoomba Central Child Safety Service Centre (TCCSSC) sit within the boundaries of the Darling Downs District in the South West Region. Both offices are located in the central business district of Toowoomba, a thriving regional town centre.

The Western Downs Assessment CSSC Manager leads a team of 36.5 full time equivalent staff that includes both administrative and professional officers. The service engages with vulnerable and at-risk children and families and conducts child protection assessments across a wide catchment area. Planned travel is a requirement of staff and the Manager.

The Manager of this CSSC will be a passionate child protection practitioner who is committed to collaborating with parents, family and community to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.

The Toowoomba Central CSSC Manager will lead the standup of this new service centre which will service Toowoomba City and surrounds. The team that you will lead is likely to approach 42 full time equivalent staff and will be a combination of new and existing positions.

Your Mandatory Requirements

Hold a blue card administered by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency
Possession of a "C" class driver's licence

Additionally, relevant human services and management qualifications are highly desirable .

Your Responsibilities

As a Manager, some of your responsibilities are below. Please refer to the attached role profile for further information.

Support, lead and manage staff in a Child Safety Service Centre to ensure that children's safety, belonging and wellbeing needs are met, and that children and families are included as meaningful partners in the child protection process.
Lead and manage the Child Safety Service Centre including corporate governance, financial management and proactive human resource management whilst maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
Actively participate as a member of the child safety regional management team contributing to the effective functioning of child safety services across the district and wider region.
Allocate, prioritise and perform work tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and statutory, financial and administrative delegations.
Provide leadership and management in a style that is consistent with the Framework for Practice in the delivery of high quality child protection services including the development of appropriate service responses to meet the identified needs of clients including children, young people, families, carers, the community and the public and non-government sectors.
Provide leadership and management of the child and family reforms both within the department and externally by partnering with Community servicesspecifically and their role in coordinating community responses.
Actively participate in and, where appropriate, lead local area forums with government and non-government stakeholders, promoting a positive and accountable public image and the development of collaborative partnerships to support quality service delivery outcomes.
Develop genuine and enduring service delivery partnerships to enhance crosssector participation, and support staff attendance at training and development activities and the delivery and coordination of local child protection services.
