Retail Shop Assistant – Full Time / Part Time / Casual
Award-Winning Retail Nursery | Two Locations
We are an award-winning retail nursery with two locations - Willow Park Nursery and Heritage Nursery - and are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Retail Shop Assistant to join our busy retail team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in visual presentation, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful applicant must be available to work across both nursery locations and hold a valid Australian driver’s licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering exceptional customer service in a busy retail environment
* Operating and maintaining accuracy with the point of sale (POS) system, including EFTPOS transactions
* Assisting customers with product selection and general enquiries
* Maintaining high standards of merchandising and visual presentation
* Stock replenishment, pricing, and display maintenance
* Supporting the nursery team as required with general duties
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming retail space

* Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
* Confidence using POS systems and handling transactions accurately
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
* Attention to detail and pride in presentation
* Reliability, maturity, and resilience in a busy working environment
* Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency
* Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Requirements
* Valid Australian driver’s licence
* Ability to work across both nursery locations
* Australian work rights (mandatory)
Additional Information
* This position involves working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
* A probationary period of 3–6 months applies
