About the role
Rise With Jack Support Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team in Geelong, VIC. In this casual role, you will provide compassionate and professional support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independent and fulfilling lives. Your work will be essential in helping our clients achieve their personal goals and maintain their wellbeing.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
2. Supporting clients in accessing the community, including accompanying them to appointments, social activities, and events
3. Helping clients with meal preparation, household chores, and other daily living activities
4. Implementing client-specific support plans and documenting progress
5. Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure holistic support
What we're looking for
1. A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or a related field
2. Experience providing direct support to individuals with disabilities or complex needs
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
4. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support
5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
6. A genuine commitment to promoting independence, choice, and dignity for people with disabilities
7. A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence
