About The Role
As the Business Administration Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping the Engineering Directorate running smoothly and responsively. This is a hands‐on, people‐facing role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who thrives on organisation, collaboration and delivering excellent customer service.
You'll provide high‐quality business and administrative support to managers, coordinators and technical teams, ensuring systems, processes and reporting are accurate, efficient and continuously improving. Acting as a key point of contact for customer and community requests, you'll help ensure enquiries are tracked, responded to and resolved in line with Council service standards and KPIs.
Working closely with colleagues across the Engineering Directorate and the wider Council, you'll support operational planning, performance reporting, procurement, records management and community engagement activities. You'll also contribute to improving systems and work practices, helping the team meet its operational commitments while delivering positive outcomes for the Inner West community.
This role suits someone who enjoys balancing detail with big‐picture thinking, you're comfortable managing competing priorities, working autonomously and supporting others to do their best work. Remuneration
$67,504.32 – $80,330.12 + 12% Superannuation
Some Of The Required Skills, Experience And Qualifications
* Significant experience providing business administration support in a technical service environment.
* Knowledge and skills in contemporary office management practices.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills.
* High level commitment to effective customer service.
* Well‐developed ICT skills, including demonstrated experience with word processing, spreadsheets, databases and customer request management systems and an ability to learn new systems.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and implement new and innovative work practices, resulting in increased productivity and service provision.
* Demonstrated ability to self‐manage a high and varied workload, organise priorities and work effectively in a team environment, with minimal supervision.
