Join the Retirement Living team at theAmity Village Estate in Albany and support our residents as our newestGrounds and Maintenance Person This role will see you be responsible for the care and maintenance of the estate grounds and related infrastructure.
As the Grounds and Maintenance Person, you will:
* Maintain reticulation, gardens, parklands and common areas by pruning, sweeping, fertilising, spraying, weeding, composting, top dressing.
* Undertake renovation projects, maintain roadways, drains, footpaths, paving, fences, gates and retaining walls.
* Liaise with external trades (electricians, plumbers, locksmiths) for specialist repairs. Advise Estate Manager on replacement of damaged equipment (stoves, hotplates, hot water tanks, air conditioners).
* Assist with common area and residential unit maintenance, rubbish collection/disposal, and estate projects as required.
* Apply herbicides, pesticides and fungicides safely with PPE.
* Ensure a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors, promptly reporting issues and responding to emergencies.

About you:
* Demonstrated experience in maintaining lawns, gardens and related infrastructure.
* Current Manual Driver's Licence.
* Flexibility, creativity and initiative within the work role.
* Ability to work unsupervised and within a small team environment.
* Ability to follow procedures and work programs.
* Skilled in operating and servicing a wide variety of machinery and equipment.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
* Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
* Chainsaw Certificate.
* Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements and practices.
