The Role We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join Evidentia Group on a 6-month contract, supporting the finance team during a critical period following the implementation of Workday as our General Ledger system. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and smooth operation of the Group’s financial records, reporting, and governance processes. This role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contributing to both core finance activities and project-based work. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting Assist the team with the implementation of the new Workday General Ledger accounting system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial transactions across the Group. Calculate monthly revenue accruals and ensure RCTI invoices are prepared in line with expectations. Prepare accurate monthly consolidated management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Track, analyse, and report on budget variances. Support strong financial stewardship, including monitoring cash flow and capital expenditure. Financial Governance Support tax filings and statutory obligations as required. Maintain accurate and timely general ledgers for individual entities, business units, and the consolidated group. Ensure timely and accurate bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with payroll processing as needed. Risk, Compliance & Governance Maintain effective governance frameworks and reporting systems to meet legal, regulatory, and statutory obligations. Liaise with auditors and external advisors to support compliance and corporate integrity. Ensure internal controls and audit processes are robust and aligned with industry standards. Project Work Undertake finance-related project work at the direction of the Head of Finance or other members of the finance team Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field 5 years’ experience in a similar Financial Accountant role. Workday General Ledger experience highly desirable. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L management, and balance sheet reconciliation. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
