Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world’s toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is accountable under general direction to design, implement, sustain, and optimise enterprise endpoint configuration management capabilities based on Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (MECM).

The role supports Defence and large enterprise programs by delivering secure, compliant, and reliable endpoint management solutions in accordance with approved architectures, security policies, and governance frameworks. The Systems Engineer operates with limited supervision, applying sound engineering judgement to complex problems and contributing across project delivery and operational sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

* Engineer, administer, and maintain enterprise‑scale MECM solutions, delivering endpoint configuration management including application/OS deployment, patching, compliance enforcement, and build/driver management.

* Develop, test, and maintain application packages, task sequences, collections, deployment workflows, and PowerShell automation to support deployment, monitoring, and reporting.

* Configure and manage Software Update Points (SUPs), ADRs, maintenance windows, configuration baselines, compliance controls, and remediation activities aligned with security and assurance requirements.

* Perform technical investigation and resolution of MECM‑related issues across clients, site systems, and content distribution, contributing to integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.

* Produce and maintain technical documentation and engineering artefacts, while collaborating closely with project managers, architects, security teams, and service operations.

About You and What You'll Bring

* Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

* Demonstrated experience supporting Microsoft MECM in Defence or large‑enterprise environments, with strong knowledge of Windows client OS, Active Directory, and Group Policy.

* Skilled in application packaging and deployment technologies (MSI, MSIX, scripted installers) and capable of producing effective PowerShell‑based automation.

* Proven ability to deliver patching and compliance outcomes within regulated environments, with knowledge of modern endpoint management practices and exposure to Intune/Co‑Management.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a NV-1 level security clearance but be willing and able to uplift to an NV-2.
